Bulgarian Fund for Women made accessible using SubtitleNEXT to transform spoken language into text in real time at 20th Anniversary conference in Sofia
For immediate release – 26 November 2024, Sofia, Bulgaria – Profuz Digital recently sponsored the Bulgarian Fund for Women’s 20th Anniversary event by donating their SubtitleNEXT platform which provided free live subtitling support. The conference took place on 14 November 2024 at the Grand Astoria Hotel in Sofia, hosting 3 main panels with participants from various NGOs and experts from Bulgaria and abroad.
As a beacon of corporate responsibility in Bulgaria, Profuz Digital is a tech firm that regularly gives back to society and ensured the event was made more inclusive and accessible for hard of hearing attendees at the one-day conference by delivering pro bono real time captioning at all the speaker panels throughout the conference.
Discussions were focused primarily on various problems and initiatives organised by NGOs and activists in multiple domains such as women’s rights, equality and non-discrimination. Two of the panels were transcribed in real time in Bulgarian language using SubtitleNEXT software and Microsoft Cognitive Services for transforming spoken language into text. SubtitleNEXT was used to transform this text into timed subtitles, which were then sent to a dedicated monitor where people could read the speeches in real time.
“We were delighted to support the Bulgarian Fund for Women by donating our live subtitling technology to help with transcription and to make the event more inclusive,” noted Profuz Digital CEO Ivanka Vassileva, “Companies play an important role in helping to shape a better society through ethical business values, including aspects like sustainability, equality, and promoting wellbeing. At Profuz Digital, we ensure that noble philanthropic work impacts positively on communities, proving crucial to forming a fairer, kinder world.”
