Sofia International Literary Festival calls on SubtitleNEXT again to deliver live subtitling
For immediate release – 12 December 2024, Sofia, Bulgaria –The prestigious Sofia International Literary Festival has invited Profuz Digital, for a second year running, to providelive subtitling support using SubtitleNEXT. The festivalwhich takes place this week at the National Palace of Culture in Bulgaria’s capital city, runs until 15th December, offeringeasy access to selected events, owing to SubtitleNEXT’s platform.
Key speaker sessions feature contemporary poets and novelists representing Bulgaria’s high calibre of literary talent on the international stage, some of which include writer Paulina Georgieva and author Georgi Gospodinov illustrating the global face of Bulgarian literature. Georgi’s novel Time Shelter received the 2023 International Booker Prize, shared with translator Angela Rodel, including the Strega European Prize. The Physics of Sorrow received the Jan Michalski Prize and the Angelus Award. His works have been translated into 25 languages. During the event, screens placed in position show subtitles that are automatically generated in real time to reproduce the exact words spoken on stage using SubtitleNEXT’s technology.
